University of Rzeszow Publishing House
About us

The history of the UR Publishing House dates back to 1965, when the publishing house of the Higher Pedagogical School in Rzeszów was established. After transforming the Higher Pedagogical School into a University center in 2001, the UR Publishing House joined the group of the most recognizable scientific publishing houses in Poland, serving the broadly understood science and culture. The mission of the UR Publishing House is to publish and propagate the research of University employees in the form of monographs and collective works, articles in journals and syntheses, as well as to provide students and learners with textbooks and teaching materials developed by academic teachers of the University.

The UR Publishing House team consists of two departments: the editorial office and the printing house. The entire structure is managed by the Director of the Publishing House. Since 2015, this function has been held by Mateusz Hołojuch, PhD. The editorial office employs 13 people (language editors, technical editor, electronic publishing specialist, graphic designer, typesetting and distribution staff, contract and billing specialist), and the printing house employs 6 people (digital and offset press operators, editor, bookbinders, mechanic of printing machines and electrician). We serve broadly understood science and culture.

The constantly increasing number of published titles in recent years has allowed the UR Publishing House to be included in the prestigious ministerial list of publishing houses publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs and applying the principles of publication ethics aimed at counteracting unfair publishing practices. The subject matter of our publications is very extensive and diverse. It corresponds to the scientific fields represented by the academic staff of all colleges and scientific institutes of the University. Our publishing house publishes monographs, scientific journals, collective works as well as textbooks and academic scripts. We combine traditional, careful editorial work with modern technologies that facilitate the message and reach a wide range of readers.

One of the priorities of our publishing house is publishing electronic versions of books and magazines and ensuring their presence in the most important scientific databases in the world. We are convinced that the use of new digital technologies is an opportunity for the development of Polish science and enables to convey its content to a wide audience. On request, we publish our books in paper and electronic versions (available online on various platforms). We make every effort to ensure that the books we publish present a high substantive and editorial level, as evidenced by numerous awards and distinctions.

An experienced, stable and proven editorial team ensures editorial supervision of each of our publications by the managing editor. We pride ourselves on direct cooperation with the author when working on the text. We provide careful linguistic and editorial proofreading at every stage of the publishing process. At the request of the author, our graphic designers will prepare a unique and individually adapted to the subject of the publication cover design. We have our own printing house, where we offer a wide range of printing services in digital and offset technology. Thanks to constant cooperation with the UR printing house, we are able to supervise every stage of publishing a book, and our publications are carefully prepared and appear on time. Each of our authors can count on professional computer typesetting and high-quality printing as well as thorough quality control of printing and binding in the printing house.

Our publications can be purchased at the office of the Publishing House, on the website of our publishing house and in numerous scientific bookstores – stationary and online – in the country and abroad. In the field of e-publications, we cooperate with the on-line reading room ibuk.pl. For many years we have been active members of the Association of Higher Education Publishers and the Publishers International Linking Association.
